FaceSearch is a reverse face search engine. You upload one photo of a face, and it returns the places online where a matching face appears: social profiles, dating profiles, and public web pages.

How the matching works
A face is turned into a numeric descriptor: a compact summary of the geometry between features that stays stable across lighting, angle, and age. That descriptor is compared against an index built from publicly reachable pages, and the closest matches are returned with a similarity score. Nothing is matched by name, filename, or the text on a page. Only the face is compared.
Match quality depends on the photo you provide. A sharp, front-facing, well-lit image of a single unobscured face produces the most reliable results. Group shots, heavy filters, sunglasses, and low resolution all reduce accuracy, and a score below the confidence threshold means a possible match, never a confirmed identity.
What FaceSearch does not do
Being precise about the boundaries is more useful than overclaiming.
- It does not confirm identity. A high-confidence match is evidence to check, not proof of who someone is.
- It does not search private accounts, closed groups, or anything behind a login.
- It does not read government, medical, financial, or criminal records.
- It does not search by name, email address, or phone number.
- It does not build a profile of the person you searched for, or notify them.
- It does not access your device camera, contacts, or photo library.
How your uploads are handled
Photos are transmitted over an encrypted connection, processed for the single search you asked for, and deleted within 24 hours of that search completing. Face descriptors are not retained after deletion, are never sold, and are never used to train a model. Your search history stays in your account and you can clear it at any time.

FaceSearch exists so people can check who they are talking to and find out where their own photos have ended up. Using it to stalk, harass, intimidate, or unmask someone against their will is prohibited, and so is any use that breaks the law where you are. Facial recognition is regulated differently across jurisdictions, and confirming you have the right to search a given image is your responsibility.
